MAGNM

Evolve to an All-IP Next-Generation Access Network with the MAGNM Series

The most economical way to begin your network’s evolution path to a Next-Generation Access model is by using existing infrastructures. Enablence’s MAGNM™ Multi Media Aggregation Node, complemented by the added versatility provided by the BroadAccess Multi-Service Acess Platform, are the clear choice for service providers looking for a bridge to the eventual implementation of an all-optical access network.

Our MAGNM system cost-effectively scales to support a wide range of access technologies, from legacy T1 and POTS to xDSL or ultra-broadband GPON, and Active Optical Ethernet subscriber connections, all in one integrated system. Service providers can mix basic copper, advanced copper and fiber-based services on the same shelf, using the same management system. This solution simplifies the transition to advanced services and is ideal for both greenfield build-outs and retrofits of existing copper plants.

MAGNM provides transport options from 1Gbps to >40Gbps, ensuring that the system can scale to meet the ever-growing bandwidth requirements of today’s competitive service provider without costly hardware upgrades. It can easily be installed in smaller form factors and grow with subscriber demand.

The system’s Ethernet-based, industry leading 1Tbps mid-plane architecture uses the latest innovations in high-speed circuit design, allowing you to update the fabric and/or subscriber modules individually through a hitless upgrade as bandwidth requirements increase – without having to upgrade the core chassis or backplane.

The MAGNM is available in its full-sized chassis as the MAGNM 20 and in the half-sized MAGNM 10 model. Both mount in an EIA 23" rack and that take up 7 or 15 RUs.

In addition to the MAGNM 10 and MAGNM 20, service providers have additional options with the “pizza box” configurations of the Broadband Access Switch (BAS). These products support similar functionalities, but in a form factor smaller than the MAGNM 10, with lower port counts. However, they scale well from smaller deployments to larger ones.
