TRIDENT7

The Versatile Choice for an Advanced All-Optical Network

One issue that many operators face when implementing an all-optical network is selecting which technology standard to use for delivering FTTP services: Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON), Gigabit Ethernet Passive Optical Network (GEPON), or Active Ethernet Optical Network.

With Enablence’s TRIDENT7™ Universal Access Platform, service providers do not have to choose between one standard or another.

The TRIDENT7 is the only optical line terminal (OLT) of its kind. No other solution on the market today allows service providers to run their network on one or any combination of these three FTTP standards. We believe that when service providers are investing significant amounts of money in their network, they should have their choice of technology.

The TRIDENT7 OLT is equipped to meet the stringent requirements of the most demanding operators. It may be redundantly provisioned to tolerate failures of electrical power, fiber optic links, peer network elements, and optical and electrical components. The hot-swappable modules within the TRIDENT7 chassis are capable of recovering from these failures rapidly enough to avoid service disruption to subscribers.

The foundation for the TRIDENT7 is its Dual Star, modular architecture, with transport options that scale from 1Gbps to 30Gbps. In addition to supporting the GPON, GEPON, and Active Ethernet Optical Network standards, TRIDENT7 OLTs include Enablence’s unique and patented advancements, including multi-layer QoS for SLA assurance, integrated RF return, SRS immunity, and enhanced security.

The TRIDENT7 is available in its full-sized chassis as well as in a compact OLT, or “COLT” model. Both mount in either an EIA 19” or 23" rack and take up 14 and 2 RUs respectively.
