Switching & Routing
Defining the Truly Agile Network
Service providers need next generation switching and routing solutions to accommodate traffic increases due to the introduction of new broadband services on access networks. Metro and long-haul networks are under tremendous pressure to accommodate traffic increases driven by bandwidth-intensive services such as HDTV, IP Video and the growing volume of subscriber-driven content being uploaded to the web.
To maintain service levels services providers need to avoid overloading the network with traffic. They need systems can quickly adapt to traffic patterns that are in constant flux by routing the traffic through the best available option, services providers need networks that are truly agile and reconfigurable.
With its next-generation ROADMs and Integrated Switches, Enablence provides systems vendors with the truly agile modules and subsystems they need to incorporate these capabilities into their metro or long haul systems offerings.
Enablence solutions offer maximum flexibility to achieve the following key network features:
- Grid-less Access – accommodate both 50Ghz and 100Ghz channel spacing.
- Direction-less Access - Any transponder (TXR) has non-blocking access to all DWDM network ports
- Color-less Access - Any (tunable) transponder has wavelength transparent access to all DWDM network ports
- Contention-less Access - Any two or more transponders can simultaneously occupy the same wavelength into different DWDM network ports
As channel count changes from 44 to 88 or 96 channels on a fiber and the signal speed changes from 10Gbps to 40 or 100 Gbps on each channel, Enablence has the leading edge off-the-shelf or custom solutions systems developers need for true agile optical networks.
