AWGs
Wavelength Management Made Simple
Enablence has pioneered the broadest range of Arrayed Waveguide Gratings (AWGs) for WDM, metro and transport networks to meet a variety of standard and custom specifications. Our AWGs have been broadly integrated into leading metro and long-haul systems by the top 10 systems developers who command the lion’s share of the global market.
As direct access to fiber optics get pushed closer and closer to the subscriber, telecommunications providers are faced with increasingly complex Dense Wavelength-Division Multiplexing (DWDM) system architectures that require multiple wavelengths to be combined and separated on to each fiber.
Enablence’s passive optical components help simplify these deployments and have proven themselves in even the most challenging applications, such as 50 Ghz channel spacing or non-thermally controlled environments. We offer two standard AWG products, all built with our proprietary Planar Lightwave Circuit (PLC) technology for reduced size and form factor:
Athermal AWG modules can be deployed in the external fiber plant yet require no electrical power for operation, greatly simplifying how and where they can be used.
Colorless AWG modules allow the same part to be used over a variety of channel bands, greatly minimizing component inventory and simplifying system rollout.
Enablence also specializes in custom products that can be designed to incorporate AWGs, receivers, transmitters, VOAs, and other functions in a single compact housing.
