Tim Thorsteinson

Chief Executive Officer

An award-winning international business leader, Mr. Tim Thorsteinson was appointed to the Board of Directors of Enablence Technologies (TSXV : ENA) in November 2009 and joined our management team as President and Chief Operating Officer at the beginning of January 2010. He was then named Chief Executive Officer of the organization in April 2010.

Mr. Thorsteinson has successfully transformed several challenging businesses to growing, profitable, high-margin market companies delivering high rates of shareholder return. He recently served as President of the Broadcast Division at Harris Corporation with $650 million in revenue, and expanded the Division by refocusing the revenue stream on new products and reducing operating expenses. Mr. Thorsteinson also served as a Harris Corporate Officer and was a member of the Harris Executive Committee.

Prior to joining Harris Corporation, Tim was President and CEO at Leitch Technology where he oversaw the execution of a two-year turnaround plan that rebuilt value and positioned the company for a profitable sale. He has held senior and executive management positions at Thomson Broadcast & Media Solutions, the Grass Valley Group and the Video and Networking Division at Tektronix.

Jacob Sun, Ph.D

President of Enablence's Optical Components and Subsystems Division

Dr. Jacob Sun has over 20 years of experience in fiber optics and optical components. Dr. Sun was the President and CEO of ANDevices from 2003 to 2008 and joined Enablence when ANDevices was acquired by Enablence in 2008. Before co-founding ANDevices, he was the Senior VP of Operations of Axon Photonics. He started the Axon PLC team in 1999. Prior to joining Axon Photonics, he was Senior Director of Manufacturing & Engineering at PIRI, which was a joint venture between NTT, Battelle, and Mitsubishi International. He was one of three founding technical members that established PIRI and developed its core technology. PIRI was the leading supplier of fiber optic waveguide components. Prior to joining PIRI, Dr. Sun was a research scientist at Battelle Memorial Institute, a non-profit research institute. Dr. Sun holds a Ph.D. from the University of Rochester and an MBA from Ohio State University. He has over 30 publications and 6 U.S. Patents.


David Toews, CA

Chief Financial Officer

A Chartered Accountant, Mr. David Toews has more than 20 years of experience in all aspects of accounting and financial management. During his five years with Harris, he drove a number of initiatives that resulted in dramatic efficiency improvements in the company's reporting processes and reduced costs by $40 million over a three-year period. His previous experience also includes serving as VP Finance and CFO of Leitch prior to its acquisition by Harris, as CFO of Internet Sports Network Inc., and as VP Finance of EDM Electronic Direct Marketing Ltd./Teletech Canada.
