U.S. Broadband Stimulus

What is the U.S. Broadband Stimulus Package?

The broadband initiatives funded in the Recovery Act are intended to spur job growth and accelerate broadband deployment in unserved, underserved and rural areas and to strategic institutions that are likely to create jobs or provide significant public benefits. The US Congress has allocated $7.2 Billion in funding to be managed and distributed by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) and the Rural Utility Service (RUS) in the form of Grants and Loans.

How do I gain an advantage?

  • Ensure your project is ready to commence promptly
  • Be ready to commit to an Open Access Network
  • Provide coverage to even the most rural residents in your project
  • Propose to use the most advanced technologies and offer the most advanced services
  • Prepare a project plan that completes the deployment within 2 years
