As direct access to fiber optics get pushed closer and closer to the subscriber, telecommunications providers are faced with increasingly complex Dense Wavelength-Division Multiplexing (DWDM) system architectures that require multiple wavelengths to be combined and separated.
DWDM combines multiple signals onto a single fiber, typically through an Arrayed Waveguide Grating (AWG) product. Enablence’s VMUX products integrate this AWG technology into a single compact package with a high-performance VOA array and monitor photodiodes. This allows carriers to monitor and automatically balance the optical power in each channel of the AWG, which is critical for optimizing the performance of the overall network.
Our VMUX products can be used in virtually any optical network to support data rates of up to 100 Gbps and handle up to 96 channels as required.
